Conference Impressions

Our visit to London enriched me a lot, especially in terms of the language. We also saw a lot of beautiful places which we had previously known from postcards only. My host family was unforgettable as well as my new friend whom I have been in touch with since. (Vit, 18 yrs)

I met a different culture, new people, friends, with whom I have been exchanging letters, and I can improve my English. I am glad to have seen most of the famous London sights. I liked the host family a lot… I liked London and the trip exceeded all my expectations. (Susan, 14 yrs)

A friendly environment, great atmosphere, excellent experience. (Jan, 13 yrs)

For the International Student Conference 2009 at Villiers, myself and my friend Nehaal prepared the newsletter for the end of the day! Might sound easy, but trust me it was a pain in the neck! It started off calm and steady as we thought we might be having help from a professional news reporter, but discovered he was more into filming, so we were left to do it alone! Anyway, we had everything that we needed to write down on scrap. Then we realised that the template used for normal newsletters would not work!!! So we had to make our own one. Then we started to type; after a paragraph or so, my partner had to leave to help with something else! So now it was all up to me. So I sat there with Ms Waldron, and typed it all up. It was looking good! When we went to print it out we then found out that there was not enough yellow ink in the printer! Luckily the

technicians had some so we waited for at least half

an hour for over 100 newsletters to be printed off and handed to every conference delegate and teacher just minutes before the end of the event! It was a heck of an experience, but I wouldn’t mind doing it again!
