Great Effort by Villiers at Athletics Opener

The pupils of Villiers High School put on a fantastic show at the season-opening athletics event at Perivale. The day began with the 100-metre sprints, with Villiers’ hopes being pinned on pace-man Karandeep. Despite being up against Year 11s, he managed to put in a blistering time of 10.5seconds, finishing 4th overall (watch out Usain). Wardah took a leaf out of Karan’s book and also finished in 4th, a great start to the day. Some reasonable results before lunch meant that Villiers were looking really good to finish in a strong position. some other results worth mentioning are Harvinder’s 200 metres, where he finished 3rd (although Karan is still quicker than him!!!). Neima did fantastically in the javelin, and a really good show in the relay by the Year 8s meant that Villiers finished in a respectable mid-table position.

22 A good start to the season! Cricket

The Year 10 team took on Cardinal Wiseman, Dormers Wells and Greenford High. This year Villiers has new comers Hasam Uddin, Chinmay Patel and Snehan Sighat as part of the Year 10 team. Up until now Villiers has played three matches and won three, well done! This means Villiers is leaving all the teams behind. It is a great start to the cricket season.

Football

Earlier this year in May, the school’s four houses, which are Phoenix,Pegasus,Aquila and Cygnus had Neck and Neck football matches across all year groups. The results were so close.Phoenix and Pegasus tied at 60-60 points and the other two houses Aquila and Cygnus both acheived 50-50 points. Well done to all of them!
