Forums ABU ICT Forum

The ABU ICT Forum addresses the use of modern information and communication delivery platforms by broadcasters. Its objective is to assist ABU members in preparing plans for services using the new media. The Forum has more than 85 members and it was set up in 2004. The newly elected chairman of the Forum is Abu Bakar Ab Rahim from RTM-Malaysia.

ICT roadshows showcase how broadcasters can make use of ICT applications in the key areas of radio and TV broadcasting. A UNESCO-ABU ICT roadshow was carried out in 2006 which benefitted six members from Nepal, Laos and Vietnam. UNESCO has again provided support for two more ICT roadshows this year aimed at benefitting members in Cambodia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Mauritius.
