Information Transfer TD Launches Online Media Learning Centre
To further enhance services to members and expand involvement in training, the TD has put in place a new web learning system. This platform, known as the Media Learning Centre-Online (MLC-Online), provides distance learning and skill development for the staff of ABU members.
The MLC-Online has been configured to provide online learning platforms for each of the ABU’s departments to conduct learning courses independently.
The platform can also be used by ABU members to conduct their own training courses, which will be particularly useful in countries where members have staff located in different regions.
Currently the TD is offering two online courses which are available under the Technical Department category at the MLC-Online website:

ABU Regional Workshop on Modern
Transmitter Technologies and Operations May, Jakarta
The workshop provided training on new technologies employed in radio and TV transmitters and on maintenance and measurements.
Participants: local 45 from 15 countries. TD provided the funding.
HBF-ABU Preparatory Seminar on WRC-11 July, Kuala Lumpur
The ITU’s World Radiocommunication Conference 2011 (WRC-11) will decide upon many spectrum matters which impact many broadcasting and other services. The ABU Preparatory Seminar helped members and others in understanding the issues involved and take up preparatory work in their own organisations.

DW-ABU Seminar: Requirements and Technical Planning for
Modern TV Stations August, Kuala Lumpur
This two-week long seminar provided hands-on training in total planning and design of technical facilities for TV production studios.
