Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union
The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) is a non-profit, non-government, professional association of broadcasting organisations, formed in 1964 to facilitate the development of broadcasting in the Asia-Pacific region and to organise co- operative activities amongst its members. The ABU provides a forum for promoting the collecting interests of television and radio broadcasters, and encourages regional and international co-operation between broadcasters.
The ABU is the third largest of the world’s eight broadcasting unions, but covers the largest geographic area of the world. The ABU currently has over 198 members in 58 countries and regions, reaching a potential audiences of about 3 billion people.
