NEWS FOR OUR LIS- TENERS: The Advo- cates “Sat- urday” will take the day off this Saturday ( 7 / 1 7 ) . G O O D
NEWS: We should not miss a weekday or Sat- urday until Labor Day. GREAT NEWS: Betty and I will attend the wedding of two people who found each other at church a few years back. AJ was already attending that particular church and Courtney was lead to that same church. These two outstanding indi- viduals will marry this Saturday. We think the world of AJ - and Court- ney - well let’s just say we have known her from the day of birth. We have two granddaughters and eight grandsons. One of Poppy’s favorite photos is the one with Courtney and her brother Justin
bouncing all over the place on my knee. Such joy and laughter………. and then they grew up. We wish AJ and Court- ney a long and extremely wonderful life together. ********
From Newsmax: “In the
wake of Republican Na- tional Committee Chair- man Michael Steele’s lashing out against the war in Afghanistan, CBS News Senior White House Correspondent Bill Plan- te is reporting a buzz in the GOP inner sanctum that Sarah Palin should replace him.” Why would Sarah Pa-
lin even consider being chairman of the GOP? Right now she has her freedom to make speech- es written by her, en- dorse candidates who believe as she and most Americans do, and con- tinue to explore the world of capitalism. Of course the liberal Plante and many “moderate” Re- publicans would like to see her muzzled because she is so effective when

allowed to be herself. We learned that when John McCain finally set her free to campaign “for the ticket.” Mac certainly could not hold himself out as a conservative! ********
After reading a letter
from Walt Carlson (Con- cord Monitor 7/9) my colleague, Ken Gorrell, made this observation: “This idea that GOP=Big Business Fat Cats is de- monstrably wrong, yet it persists in the minds of many. The telling line in the below letter in the Monitor is: “I think it is unpatriotic not to help fellow Americans in need.” Mr. Carlson obviously equates Big Government with helping those in need - a popu- list, socialist attitude. He thinks top-down, fed- eralizing all of our per- ceived problems. This is anti-Constitutional
thinking...it is unpatri- otic in the sense that continuing down this path would fundamental- ly alter the foundations
of this country. One can not have true love-of- country while wanting to change it so radi- cally. You can not love this country or under- stand the unique nature of what the Founders created while voting to change it into a Euro- pean social democracy. The two views are in- compatible.” Ken joins me nearly every Saturday during The Advocates for a couple of hours. Listen in - call in.
******** New Jersey Governor
Chris Christie (Republi- can) and Arizona Gover- nor Jan Brewer (Repub- lican) are two governors who are making news - and it is good news for their constituents and all Americans - minus the bleeding heart Liberals We interrupt the writ-
ing of this column for this email just in: “Was listening to show but didn’t have phone with me (Dump Run) always interesting as usual... MANY issues Niel, base
of all problems we have are lack of ‘Faith, Trust and Truth.’ Media bias? What about the coverage or LACK of!! When One American is NOT worth fighting for then WE as Americans have LOST!! “We have an American being held POW in Af- ghanistan this day and being hidden by Termi- nology and what do we hear by ANY Media?? Nothing! What if one of your listeners Sons or Daughters? Would they be ok with that? Would they be worried about the Economy or what’s going on in Concord or where Lebron is play- ing? Is it the Repub- licans or Democrats that are responsible for my country - or AMERICANS?” Gov. Christie is fighting for a return to fiscal sanity which will be a monu- mental task with what has been going on in New Jersey for many, many years. And one of his options is “privatiz-
