“The Miser” Comes To The Barnstormers Theatre

The Barnstormers Theater presents Molière’s classic com-

edy of manners “The Miser” Friday through Tuesday, July 20 to 24, in Tamworth. Harpagon, a penny-pinching money-lender, is the cheapest

man in town. He rules over his household and his children with a tight fist, even arranging their marriages to further enrich himself--all the while planning to marry the beauti- ful Mariane. But Harpagon’s son Cleante is also in love with Mariane, and his daughter Elise has matrimonial plans of her own. Love and the love of money spell trouble, intrigue, and laughter in Molière’s outrageous farce from 1668. Performances of “The Miser” are at 7:30pm Tuesday to
