THE WEIRS TIMES, Thursday, July 15, 2010 Flying Monkey General Manager Lisa

Lovett said the re-opening show has generated a buzz among music and theater fans in New Hampshire and beyond, and says tickets for the perfor- mance are selling quickly. The re-opening performance line-up includes the James Montgomery Blues Band, named the “John Mayall of New England” by Peter Wolf. While grow- ing up in Detroit, Montgomery learned first-hand from masters James Cotton, John Lee Hooker and Junior Wells at the legendary Chessmate. The Uptown Horns, together for 15 years, are revered as one of the most respected horn sections in the world. Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductee

Monkey’s Orchestra seating is as close to the stage as most venues’ Gold seating sections, giving more than 220 fans an up- close experience. New riser and balcony sections will have reserved table seating and offer both food and beverage service in the main hall during performances, and a full-service bar will be placed at the back of reserved seating, allowing patrons to enjoy beverages within the main hall dur- ing performances. Phase two renovations, slated for next

year, include building a new movie theater downstairs and constructing a multi-pur- pose event room for meetings, workshops and other community needs.

Michael Carabello returns to New Hampshire for this re-opening show after bringing down the house at the Legends of Rock n’ Blues series with Montgomery in Keene last February. David Hull, a founding member of the power rock trio Fahrenheit and bassist for the Joe Perry Project also joins the night’s bill. The Brooks Young Band, fronted by Fender-endorsed artist Brooks Young, has a rock and roll, guitar-driven en- ergy with a heart of blues. The band will kick off the evening at 8 p.m. Tickets to The Flying Monkey’s open-

ing night performance can be pur- chased online at thecman.com or at the Common Man Lincoln, Common Man Inn & Spa in Plymouth, Lakehouse Grille in Meredith and Tilt’n Diner in Tilton.
