Show Highlights
We’re building a spectacular showcase home designed and built by title sponsor Frontier Custom Builders. Surrounded by blooming gardens and outdoor accents, the 3,500sf display will be filled with elaborate finishes and custom interiors, such as a romantic wine grotto, formal living and dining areas and a sunny summer kitchen.
Tucked into the back yard of Frontier’s showcase home will be HomeAid Houston’s “Project Playhouse,” an air-conditioned, Astros-themed clubhouse built by David Weekley Homes that comes with a flat- screen TV, DVD player, Astros memorabilia and more! Proceeds from each $5 raffle ticket sold benefit GHBA’s official charity partner, whose mission is to build dignified housing where homeless families and individuals can rebuild their lives.
BABA Support Our Troops provides custom built homes to America’s wounded and disabled veterans and the widows of the fallen. The GHBA Trade Show Committee is honored to welcome BABASOT members to the New Home & Remodeling Show to promote their charity and encourage the participation of others. They’ll be selling tickets to their Black-Tie Gala fundraiser on July 15 at the Admiral on Clear Lake and their Bands for Brothers & Sisters concert on July 18 at Pasadena Fairgrounds.

Seminars–Pros at the Show!
NHRS10 fills the show weekend with new home seminars hosted by people who really know what they’re talking about. Members of the Custom Builders Council, Associate Council and the Education Committee present topics such as build on your lot presented by Tilson Home Corp.; CenterPoint’s Energy Star Homes program hosted by Geoff Hartman of CNP Energy Star Homes, and a mortgages-and-more session by Patriot Bank financing experts.
Remodeling workshops are hosted by members of the award-winning Remodelors Council, including budgeting how-to’s, “Do in a Day” projects like faux painting, quick landscaping projects, simple plumbing fixes and tiling tips. Green Built Gulf Coast’s exhibit will feature energy-saving products and services, and their members will host two seminars to promote conservation efforts in home construction.
Susan Fruit Interiors brings “The New American Home” to the show; a chic showcase of designer cabinetry, upscale home accessories and state-of-the-art appliance demonstrations highlighted by celebrity chef appearances. And, it’s always standing room only when the effervescent Susan Fruit, ASID and CGR, takes the seminar stage to host four inspiring design and decorating workshops!
