DAISY ALBA

Daisy Alba, currently the senior global cash manager for EMC, is responsible for the company’s cash management, integrations of new acquisitions, business controls and global cash forecasting. Working closely with EMC’s information technology management and communications systems, Alba has initiated and managed projects that have improved the EMC global cash management structure internationally and have trans- formed EMC’s Treasury operations and controls.

An active force for diversity and education in her community and company, Alba was an

early leader of EMC’s Latin Leadership Employee Circle, which she now serves as its president. She sits on the board of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, serving as the vice president for corporate relations. Alba organized the “back to school back-pack drive” for a neighborhood school located in an impoverished section of Boston. She also presented and received approval and funding for the implementa- tion of a “Children’s Day” at EMC.

Ginger Kerrick, a flight director at NASA, was the first person of Hispanic heritage to lead Mission Control. She was also the first non-astro- naut to serve as a spacecraft communicator. Currently, she is responsible for directing the activities of the ground support team during human spaceflight operations. Before serving in her current position, Kerrick led the develop- ment of new flight techniques, procedures, and flight rules. She coordinated with shuttle program management and international partners to ensure the integration of all mission

requirements and operations. Between 1997 and 2001, Kerrick worked with the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (GCTC), RSC-Energia, the Mission Operations Directorate (MOD), and the Astronaut Office (CB) to assist in the integration of preflight training and mission execution products for all Expedition crews.

Kerrick’s accomplishments included the 2001 NASA Superior Achievement Award, and the 2004 Texas Tech University Distinguished Alumni award, among others. Ker- rick earned a master’s degree in physics from Texas Tech University.

JANICE RIOS-NEGRON

Janice Rios-Negron is a microwave engineer II for Alltel/Verizon Wireless. As a shared employee she supports Alltel’s microwave design across the United States. She designs licensed and unlicensed point-to-point microwave radio systems using Pathloss.

As an RF Engineer JMA/Sprint, Rios-Negron developed Rev A and RNC-AP maps using Microsoft Streets & Trips and MapInfo. Before that, she worked as a systems engineer II at Raytheon, where she contributed to the Missile Defense National Team Systems (Boeing) sensors analysis.

Rios-Negron is a member of IEEE and the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico. She serves as the Hispanic lead for Raytheon and as a member of the activities committee at Alltel. She mentors new hires and participates in recruiting activities.
