Knapps Angling Club
The Knapps Angling Club celebrated
its fi rst 100 years with a Centenary
Dinner held in Kilmacolm Golf Club
on Friday 22nd January, which was much enjoyed by over 30 members.
A special book to commemorate the Centenary, entitled, ‘The Knapps Angling
Club 1910 to 2009’, has been specially written by Colin Carnie, a Past President
of the Club. This is a fascinating account of the club and the Loch over the
past century. It will be available to members and the public alike from the Club
Secretary and also later from the local newsagent.
Kennedy Foster, Captain of Kilmacolm Golf Club,
proposed the toast to the Knapps Angling Club
& presented the Knapps President, Quintin J
McClymont, with an engraved claret decanter to
mark the occasion.
Paul Young, the well known angler, actor and
broadcaster, was the special guest speaker for the
evening and entertained those present with some
fascinating insights into his angling experiences.
