SEA: Does a CPP or PSP have a competitive advantage
in the security industry?
APR: Absolutely, because it certifies and grades the
qualities and professional characteristics of private se-
curity specialists at any level. I think that this should be
a priority for ASIS.
SEA: If not, what could be done to promote the certifica-
tions for its recognition?
APR: I think there is no “if” because ASIS meets all the
conditions and characteristics in teaching techniques
that are needed to provide a certification to recognize
the training of a private security professional.
SEA: What is the main security problem in Chile today?
APR: Not having a comprehensive law for private se-
curity, equal or similar to the law in Spain, which has all
the proper legal standards for the adept development
of private security. Today we have only one Private
Guards Act, unable to hold an effectiveness analysis
because of the current circumstances experienced by
Chilean society.
