Dell: Bamboo Baby Steps
Dell has stuck one foot onto the road of environmental sustainability with the launch of their new packaging. In mid-November, Dell began
using bamboo protective packaging to ship its Dell Inspiron Mini 10 and 10v Netbooks in place of the paper, foam and corrugate that is often
used. Even though bamboo currently seems to be all the rage (you can find “green” bamboo boutique products that range from flooring to
clothing) Dell is among the first major companies to use bamboo in their standardized packaging, and the first in the PC industry.
