Keeping a slender belt line is not only aestheti-
cally appealing, it represents, to some degree, over-
all health. Most people are in search of the magic
formula to keep off weight while not sacrificing
in their personal life. It does not take a complete
lifestyle makeover to obtain the body you desire. If
you have a basic foundation of knowledge, you can
keep off unwanted weight and look your best all the
time without yo-yo diets, wonder pills and potions
and any other fad dietary advice!
My first tip for a slim, lean mean waistline is,
surprise, surprise… know your metabolic type! I
have mentioned this before and cannot overstate
its importance. This first step is absolutely critical
A LeAn
and the most fundamental in everybody’s quest for
a strong, ripped physique. This bit of information
is the definitive first step. My last article covered
this subject exclusively and touched on the basic
And
understandings of metabolic typing and the facts to
support its relevance.
My second tip, which is neck and neck with
number one, is drink plenty of water. Hydration is
critical for all health to take place in the body. Water
MeAn
is responsible for millions of biological/biochemical
responses in our bodies. Without it we could not
get messaging from our central nervous system,
nutrients would stagnate and not circulate through

us, toxins could not be eliminated and we would die!
Water is our great toxin diluter. Toxins from food,
air, water, chemicals and medications that are not
eliminated are stored in fat cells. Since most people
get more than their fair share of toxins, we should,
at the very least, consume appropriate amounts of
water to rid our bodies of excess amounts of them.
Stabilizing your blood sugar is a critical stress re-
liever. So eating at appropriate intervals would keep
your blood sugar leveled and eliminate the stress
created by excessive gaps between eatings, which
create stress that creates fat! Simply eating evenly
spaced meals and snacks throughout your day, ap-
proximately every three to four hours, will keep your
metabolism in high gear, keeping your belt line slim.
Speaking of sugar, try to give up as much refined
sugar as possible. Refined sugar has no nutrients
and carries plenty of calories, empty calories. This
is not good because your body will continue to eat
in search of nutrition. This is one reason why most
people can eat a whole pint of ice cream in one
sitting. The “ I could not stop” scenario is commonly
heard of. Sweetness is a natural signal to the brain of
nutrition. Like a sweet apple for example, do not let
refined sugars fool you. If you cannot eliminate them
altogether then moderate them. If you feel a sugar
craving, try to reach for a little protein, fat and car-
bohydrate according to your metabolic type. Sweet
