BIG BIRD HITS BUTLINS Sesame Street Live is to feature at Butlins’ resorts for the February half-term school holiday. Characters such as Elmo, Big Bird and Bert & Ernie will be appearing at Minehead on February 15 and Bognor Regis on February 16. Other family shows during half-term include LazyTown’s Energy Show and concerts by Danyl Johnson and Britain’s Got Talent finalists New Bounce. 1960s pop star Lulu will be headlining the Music Big Weekend at Bognor Regis from March 23-26.


TUNE IN TO LONDON Budget hotel chain Tune will open its second property in London on January 4. Tune Hotel Liverpool Street will feature 183 en-suite rooms and will be located 500 metres from Liverpool Street station. Rooms start at £35 per night.


ACCOR TAKES ON ULURU French hotel group Accor has signed a deal with Ayers


Accor is creating jobs for indigenous Australians at Ayres Rock Resort


Rock Resort in Australia to help the resort promote itself in new markets and look for domestic leisure and conference business. As part of the agreement, Accor will also try to boost career opportunities for indigenous Australians at the Northern Territory resort, which is planning a refurbishment of its hotels – starting with the Sails in the Desert property – and a new conference and exhibition centre.


KENYAN CHIC Luxury hotel group Hemingways Collection is to open a new property in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi in August 2012. Hemingways Nairobi will be based in a plantation-style building and have


45 suites. It will be the group’s third hotel after fellow Kenyan properties Hemingways Watamu and Ol Seki Hemingways Mara.
