hire an expert to provide appraisals to the condemning entity and an attorney to represent him during the hearings. After hearing evidence from all


parties, the special commissioners determine the amount of money the landowner should be awarded as adequate compensation. This award is fi led with the court and sent to all parties. If either the landowner or the condemning entity is unsatisfi ed with the award amount, either party may formally object. The court will hear complaints using civil case procedures. If the condemning entity decides


it does not need the condemned prop- erty, it may fi le a motion to dismiss the condemnation proceeding. If the court agrees, the landowner has the right to recover reasonable and necessary fees and other expenses incurred to the date of the hearing.
