SEEDSTOCK by his father, Ed C. Lasater, and purchased Shorthorn bulls. Ed Lasater served as president of Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association in 1911 and 1912. His father bought their fi rst ranch in Goliad in 1882. The Beefmaster breed was recognized by the USDA in 1954 as a new breed. In 1947, Tom Lasater bought the Colorado ranch as a summer place, and the family story is they “forgot to go home.” Dale Lasater has been running the ranch and continuing the rigorous selection process for the last 30 years. After living for almost 20 years in Mexico, Alex La- sater returned to the ranch in 2011. The 67th Annual Production Sale will be Sept. 10, with an offering of 120 yearling and 2-year-old bulls. Members of the International Brangus Breed- ers Association (IBBA) elected 5 new members to
serve 3-year terms on the IBBA board of directors – Chris Heptinstall, Salacoa Valley Farms, Fairmount, Ga.; Mike Vorel, Vorel Farms, Luther, Okla.; Lee Al- ford II, Caldwell; Steve Densmore, Circle X Land and Cattle, Bryan; and Troy Floyd, Roswell, N.M. IBBA welcomes new staff members Jenny Bohac,

breeding from Texas A&M University. Her thesis focused on maternal reproductive traits in fi rst and second generation Brahman-Angus crosses. Beere is a graduate of Codeup’s full-stack web
development boot camp, a technical college that spe- cializes in and teaches practical real-world develop- ment skills. Beere focused his training at Codeup to learn how to combine problem-solving skills with his love for technology. New directors have been elected to the North American Limousin Foundation (NALF) board.
Serving 3-year terms are Greg Blaydes, Midway, Ky., and Mark Barker, Newcastle, Okla. Three directors were re-elected to their second term – Dexter Ed- wards, Beulaville, N.C.; Jim Bob Hendrickson, Adair, Okla.; and Austin Hager, Karlsruhe, N.D. The remaining executive committee consists of Jim Bob Hendrick- son, as secretary, Gary Fuchs, Cameron, as trea- surer, and Austin Hagar, as member-at-large.
