CATTLE RAISERS COMMUNITY

Of things that concern cattle raisers…

MEMBER NOTES

A Year of Hard Work and Growth By Curtis Younts, Association Promotion Committee chair

I

HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE OF SERVING AS YOUR ASSOCIATION PROMOTION COMMITTEE chair for the last year. This year of service to Texas and Southwestern

Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) has been a very enjoyable and hum- bling experience. In my term as committee chair, we have added more than 400 new

TSCRA members to TSCRA. We now have the highest TSCRA member- ship in decades. We have assembled a RAP Team that is working hard to continue growing TSCRA across all areas of the state and is reaching out to ranchers with all sizes of operations. Simply said, we are looking forward to continued growth in 2016. In the last year, I’ve logged thousands of miles travelling to TSCRA

ranch gatherings and other events. The members, fellow ranchers, volun- teers and staff I have met and worked with along the way have proven to me that TSCRA is strong and will only get stronger in the future. Of course, we could not accomplish so much at the ranch gatherings

without the help of our great hosts and sponsors. I urge each of you to thank them wherever you might meet them. The information and fellowship that attendees share at ranch gatherings

is like nothing else in any other industry of which I am aware. It does not matter whether a person owns 1,000 head of cattle or none, we all have a common goal: Protecting our way of life. TSCRA is uniquely capable of helping defend the ranching way of life and it has been an honor to do my part to represent the organization. I am especially proud of the countless hours that our special rangers put

in, not only in law enforcement, but also as the public face of our organi- zation. Their service to ranchers across Texas and Oklahoma is inspiring. Once again, I would like to thank everyone for all the support, time and

effort that was given me this past year and hope you will continue that support with the incoming Association Promotion chair and vice chair.
