St Martin Ideally situated in the centre of the

Antilles Arc, close to numerous other islands, St Martin has earned a reputation for its cruising and pleasure boating opportunities with no less than 10 marinas. Luxurious and modern, the four marinas on the French

side (Fort Louis, Port-la-Royale, Anse Marcel, Captain Oliver’s) offer all the comforts and facilities that sailors require. Sailing enthusiasts can take part in numerous regattas; the most famous of them, the Heineken Regatta, convenes over five days in March, bringing together hundreds of the world’s best sailors. Thanks to its shared French and Dutch sovereignty,

a double culture has evolved on St Martin, where sophistication mixes with a laid-back style, creating a unique island life. To make the most of this lifestyle, St Martin offers a range of places to stay, with Le Beach, overlooking the Baie de Marigot, one of the highlights.

St Martin has become a global sailing destination

Reunion Island Reunion can provide visitors with simple enjoyable

pleasures, such as enjoying an aperitif at sunset, or a stroll along the 22km of lagoons on the western coast. But there are also more dramatic distractions, such as flying over the island by helicopter, or exploring the pitons, cirques and ramparts that have been classified by UNESCO. There is also the chance to explore the lagoon on a glass-bottomed kayak looking for the marine life of the Indian Ocean, or to sail out in a

catamaran in search of whales, who breach, dive and re-emerge along the coast from June to September.

Exhilarating adventures create further lasting memories – such as experiencing an excursion in a 4x4, exploring the tributaries of the rivers or even the expanse of sand that lies on the road to the volcano. For something more sedate yet equally unique, visitors

can even create their own perfume thanks to the fragrances distilled from the many aromatic plants that thrive on the island. Alternatively, they might opt for a round of golf in one of the three courses here, or relax in the spa at a charming hotel, such as four-star Saint-Alexis Hotel and Spa, across from the beautiful beach of Boucan Canot.
