As you read this, 50 of our top performing agents will quite possibly be a) nursing extremely sore heads or b) polishing their new ITC Agent of the Year Awards


Why? Because on November 26, we hosted our much anticipated awards event to mark the launch of our new reward programme, The Chairman’s Club. We’re certainly not the


first to launch something like this, but I’d like to think we’re creating something that’s a little out of the ordinary – something our much missed founder and chairman Drew Foster would have been proud of; hence the name. To be invited, you need to


generate a minimum of £300,000 revenue across our portfolio between October and September each year; if you do, we promise to share some special experiences with you, from intimate dinners, through to hedonistic trips around the globe, through to some seriously spectacular sporting events. OK, all well and good for the


favoured few, but does that mean nobody else gets a sniff at the good stuff? Not a bit of it; we’re investing in a programme of 2016 trips to ensure as many of you as possible experience our W&Onderful portfolio, whether it’s North Island or North Korea; Antigua or Azerbaijan. Our aim is to bring the breadth of The ITC Luxury Travel Group to as many of you as is humanly possible. Now, where’s the Anadin?

Two seemingly contradictory new hotel brands are being rolled out by the same company. While 1 Hotels focuses on eco-conscious


design and sustainable architecture, Baccarat Hotels & Resorts is full of classic glamour and excess, with design inspired by the heritage of the 250-year-old crystal house. Both brands are operated by SH Group, an


affiliate of global private investment giant Starwood Capital Group (not to be confused with Starwood Hotels & Resorts) which acquired Baccarat in 2005. But the first hotel under the name took

the first Spa de La Mer in the US. Projects are also on the way in Morocco, Dubai and Doha. Meanwhile, the first 1 Hotels property was opened in South Beach, Miami and followed by 1 Hotel Central Park in August. “I believe this hotel fills a void in the market


and offers guests simply something people haven't seen before,” said Barry Sternlicht, chairman and chief executive of Starwood Capital Group. “I decided that if I was ever going to create another hotel, I wanted it to be more than a brand; I wanted it to be a cause. People are already living like this and are now looking for ways to travel in the same fashion.” Next up will be 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge Park

Nordic hotel giant Scandic is to launch a contemporary new hotel in Stockholm, set in the department store where Greta Garbo once worked. Scandic has almost 230 hotels with 42,000

architecture and interior design company Koncept and is in Stockholm’s Norrmalm neighbourhood. It will offer 405 rooms, 16 suites, a restaurant, a cafe, a bar, an event floor for up to 800 people, an intimate cinema and a rooftop event space. “Haymarket is our most exciting project to


date,” said Lars Sandberg, general manager. “The hotel, which is already breaking barriers in terms of how a Scandic hotel is expected to look, will have an international feel and cater to a range of different demographics.”
