NEWS — SUPERFAM

Brendan (second right) in Yosemite National Park

In the build-up to this year’s incredible California SuperFAM, we spoke to Brendan Croft, North American product executive at Skiworld, who attended the 2011 trip

Q Which itinerary did you do? A I was lucky to experience the Mountains itinerary. We visited San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park and finished in San Diego for the finale.

Q What are your memories of the SuperFAM? A The whole trip is a lasting memory with so many fun activities, places to visit and laughs with all the people. Lake Tahoe for me was the real highlight, and what I fell in love with on the trip. The place is a mecca of so much activity and beautiful scenery. I would probably now regard it as my favourite place in the world!

Q How does the California SuperFAM compare to others you’ve been on?

A It honestly really is one of the best! The activities planned were perfect and suited everyone in the group, the destinations visited are amazing and the blend of stacking everything in but still feeling like you’re enjoying yourself and not completely exhausted was spot on.

Q What’s your favourite memory? A We had many funny things happen it is so hard to point to one particular instance, we laughed so much all the time. But if I had to choose one it would

probably be roller skating in Northstar. We had some that were good, some maybe not so good, and we created a conga style line which proved to be an interesting combination. Lots of falling down and lots of laughing.

Q How did the SuperFAM help you sell California? A California is such an amazing and special place for me because it is so diverse. There are few places you can ski and snowboard, surf, wine taste, city break or just road trip all in the same months of the year. It literally has something for everyone no matter what your interests, hobbies or age. Having the full experience helped me sell California. Starting from the departing flight with British Airways, and getting to experience the best in customer service from an airline, to the laid- back but high standard from all the California places we visited, the experiences the SuperFAM provided really elevated my passion and drive for the state.

Q What would you say to someone considering trying to qualify for this year’s SuperFAM?

A It shouldn’t really be a consideration, it should be ‘how do I make sure I don’t miss out on this opportunity?’ I truly believe it will change your life and view of California as a destination!
