The 2015 Travel Brit Awards are only five weeks away. Here we asked suppliers supporting this year’s event to give us a taste of what to expect in the entertaining afternoon training sessions
Fans of quizzes and gameshows will be in their element at this year’s Travel Brit Awards, with the operators and tourist boards running the event plotting some fantastic training sessions. Great Rail Journeys will be
featuring a Claire and Sue Give us a Clue game. Agents will be divided into two teams before being asked to use their artistic skills to showcase a destination, landmark or point of interest featured in the operator’s UK brochure. Meanwhile, SuperBreak will be putting guests’ knowledge of UK destinations and SuperBreak’s

tapping into the popular game Articulate, with agents asking ‘who, where, what and when?’, while discovering new ways to sell the operator’s wide range of destinations and products. Hoseasons and Bourne Leisure

promised to bring its holiday experience to the Brits with the cryptic message: ‘Dive into our hot tub challenge. . . get physical at our Go Active trials. . . and cast off on your very own floating boat.’ Finally, Travel Brit Awards
debutants Airways Holidays, Visit Guernsey and Condor Ferries have promised to showcase ‘a taste of Guernsey’, with blind-tasting of the island’s produce tied into education about what Guernsey has to offer and the benefits of travelling with Condor Ferries and Airways Holidays. What’s for certain is that there
won’t be a dull moment, as guests find out more about how to boost their domestic business.

The 2015 Travel Brit Awards are set to be the biggest yet, with demand for places at record levels. The event, which will take place at Warner Leisure Hotels’ Littlecote House Hotel (pictured) on June 28, will have a ‘Red, White and Blue Ties and Tiaras’ theme, and will once again feature afternoon training sessions, before a gala dinner and awards ceremony. The awards are organised by several domestic specialists, and are supported by Abta. This year, agents will hear from Bourne Leisure, Great Rail Journeys, Hoseasons, Shearings Holidays, SuperBreak, VisitEngland and newcomers Airways Holidays, Condor Ferries and VisitGuernsey. Caroline Brown, commercial director at Shearings Holidays and chairman of Abta’s UK tourism and leisure group, said: “Getting to new agents is key for us, and we have a policy of trying to engage with agents in the region in which we are holding the event. “This year we are in Berkshire, so we are targeting agents from the south and showcasing how they can sell more domestic holidays.”
