Antarctica - Ushuaia (Argentina) - Antarctica

Classic Antarctica

The South Shetland Islands and Antarctic Peninsula form one of the most spectacular wilderness areas on Earth. A remarkable collection of wildlife lives in the shadow of snow-capped mountains and crystal-blue icebergs. Penguins, whales and a rich diversity of birdlife await you on an exploratory journey of the Great White Continent.

Voyage itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. Your evening is at leisure.

Day 2 Board your expedition ship in the afternoon. Spend the evening watching the sun set over the Beagle Channel.

Days 3 to 4 Your adventure begins with a 400-mile crossing of the Drake Passage, named after 16th century English explorer Sir Francis Drake.

Days 5 to 8 During your time in the Great White Continent, you will see penguins gathering with their chicks, orca, minke and humpback whales rising out of the ocean, seals hauling out onto ice fl oes, and numerous albatross and other seabirds fl ying in the skies above. Your voyage allows you plenty of time to enjoy breathtaking scenery; ice-choked waterways, blue and white icebergs, impressive glaciers and rugged snow-capped mountains. The peninsula also has a remarkable history and during the voyage, you’ll learn about some of the most important and dramatic expeditions to this remote corner of the world.
