Blower engineered to operate at up to 180ºC from ACI
Industries industrial blower is suitable for many applications too trying for many alternative units. ACI’s
E ‘EP10AH’ is designed to handle inlet
temperatures of up to 180oC without any significant temperature increase of the bearings so unit longevity and low maintenance requirement is similar to those of the standard EP10. Low temperature rise is achieved by integrating a heat dissipation ‘spinner’ disk in a vented housing between the blower unit and impeller. This avoids the need for cooling water and all related supply and drainage problems. Other features enabling the EP10AH to function effectively in such high temperatures include the use of de-rated AC motors (standard motors effective up to 40oC) and a ‘finger-proof’ pierced metal belt guard (replacing the vacuum formed standard cover) that allows air to enter and circulate freely. The EP10 family of blowers has a low maintenance requirement because the blower head is cast and machined as a single piece with equally spaced bearings configured specifically to provide even loading from the belt drive.

ngineered for working in high temperature environments of up to 180oC,
the Air Control
Wetted components are machined from inert UHMW* polymer, making the 752 Series valve ideal for dispensing adhesives, anaerobic threadlockers and other reactive
fluids. The adjustable open/close stroke 0.13 to 0.64 mm (0.005" to 0.025") means very fast response and positive shutoff. Two configurations are available: The basic 752V Series valve configuration is actuated by an external solenoid, and is capable of open times as short as 15 milliseconds and more than 500 cycles per minute. The 752V Series with BackPack™ Valve Actuator has a compact solenoid installed on the valve’s actuating air cylinder for faster response time and less variation due to fluctuating plant air supplies or different air line lengths. The 752V Series valves are used with "EFD Multi-valve Controller" ValveMate™ 8000 controllers or Nordson EFD dispensing robots.

Castell provides safety interlocks to Zambia’s largest power station
ESCO chooses British firm as partner for Kariba North Bank extension project. Industrial safety specialist Castell has provided several K Locks and key exchanges boxes to the Kariba hydropower station North Bank
Z
extension project in Zambia. In the early 1960s, Castell provided interlocks to the power station; more than half a century later, the interlocks are still performing well. When the station was due to add a north bank extension, project owner Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation (ZESCO) recommended Castell to the project contractor SINOHYDRO.
Castell’s interlocks force workers to follow a
predetermined process when operating or maintaining machinery and equipment, to prevent human error and safeguard workers’ access to dangerous areas. Christy Zhang, senior sales manager at Castell China, said: “It is an honour for Castell to provide safety interlocks to the Kariba North Bank extension project. The client’s trust in us stems from the long-term performance of our interlocks.” The Kariba hydropower station is located in the middle of the Zambezi River, 125 miles from Lusaka, Zambia’s capital. The extension project has added two 180 MW generator units, taking the total capacity to 1,080 MW and making Kariba the largest power station in Zambia.

Gearbox improves reliability and production capacity
he new ABB Dodge® Torque Arm II is a highly efficient helical bevel gearbox that mounts directly to the shaft and is suitable for applications including conveyors carrying sand, crushed rock, gravel, recycled and artificial aggregates. The modular design of the gearbox is ideal for use in shaft mount, screw conveyor or vertical and flange mounted applications with a standard twin-tapered bushing system and patented short-shaft option to allow the replacement of straight bore and single bushed style gearboxes. The twin tapered bushing system, that requires no specialist tools for fitting or removal, provides concentric grip on the shaft on both sides of the gearbox eliminating fretting corrosion that can often occur on these types of gearbox applications.
T The
integrated oil seals in the Torque Arm II gearbox are made of a premium material with an operating range from -40°C to +150°C.

DTS XFP Tubular LED lighting suits hazardous areas
he new DTS range of XFP Ex de tubular LED fittings has been approved for use within hazardous areas Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. Featuring automatic switch-off upon opening for safety and maintenance, the range is ATEX compliant and approved to EN60079-0,60079 -1 and 60079-7. For corrosion resistance and longevity in the field, the fittings are manufactured from marine grade aluminium and supplied with offshore grade paint.
T Lightweight, impact resistant
polycarbonate versions are available or glass versions for use within specific chemical plant areas or paint shops. Alternative paint finishes are also available. A key requirement of lighting within hazardous area is life time cost of the product and LED helps significantly in this as it reduces the amount of maintenance required. Furthermore the NEW DTS LED has been designed to utilize the removable gear tray already used in the florescent version allowing for existing products to be converted to LED by just changing the gear tray.
