Condor’s Guernsey ferry to be out of operation until late August

A Condor ferry that struck the seabed off Guernsey is expected to be out of service until August 26. “Complex” repairs in dry dock in Falmouth are required to the

Commodore Clipper following the incident on July 14. Condor is to transfer Commodore Clipper passengers to its high-

speed ferries and hopes to charter a replacement vessel to carry freight from the UK mainland to the Channel Islands. An interim schedule to the Channel Islands is being operated by

freight-only vessel Goodwill. Condor will operate three extra sailings from Weymouth over the period to provide extra passenger capacity. They will run in addition to 14 weekly sailings that operate during the summer holidays. “There is sufficient capacity to accommodate all guests booked

on Commodore Clipper, and all affected guests are being offered alternative sailings on the high-speed ferries,” said the company.

operating profits up 6% to €216 million. MyFerryLink operates the former SeaFrance ferries Berlioz and Rodin from Dover.
