Lisa Curtis travel consultant

Lisa has been working at Carrick Travel for a month having previously worked at The Co-operative Travel. She enjoys booking cruises and has good product knowledge of that sector.

Carrick Travel COOKS ALLEY, 63 HENLEY STREET

I was greeted by an agent who was engaging and friendly from the moment I entered the shop. The agent asked lots of questions and I was impressed with the level of attention shown. A lot of time was taken to make sure I was getting the best recommendations for the best price. I wasn’t asked my budget and at first was quoted £3,510 to stay at the Sofitel Legend for seven nights with Classic Collection. The agent realised it was too high and then gave two more options. The first was with Osprey Holidays staying at the Hotel Ambassade for £1,499 for four nights. The second was with Classic Collection and was for the same hotel but for £1,392 for three nights, including private transfers. The agent

offered car hire, airport parking and said she could pre-book tours for me. The information given would have encouraged me to book with this agent.

A friendly agent welcomed me and offered assistance. I felt the agent lost focus during our conversation on more than one occassion. At first the agent began looking at Belgium instead of the Netherlands. However, I was eventually given two quotes,

both through Cresta Holidays for three nights. The first was for £1,329 staying at the Hotel Pulitzer and the second was for £1,152 staying at the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapalsky. No brochures were available to take away and the agency appeared a little rundown.

A friendly agent welcomed me as soon as I walked through the door. I was asked lots of questions and the agent gave me two quotes through Cresta Holidays. The first was slightly over budget at £1,622 staying at the Hotel Pulitzer for three

nights with transfers. The second was for £1,415 staying at the Hotel Krasnapolsky for three nights. The agent was the most knowledgeable of the three and offered lots of information about the city. I would have booked with this agent too.

Wanted: Amsterdam city break

A couple are keen to visit Amsterdam for a maximum of a week in October. They don’t mind whether they get a ferry or fly but want a nice hotel in a central location. Budget: £1,500. Verdict: It was a close call this week, but the winning agent went out of her way to find the perfect break and offered several options.
