the UK are 9% up year on year and spend and overnights are also on the increase. To help agents maximize this upward trend, Tourism Western Australia arranged a roadshow across the UK this summer. Six regional experts and fi ve key Western Australia product representatives met 268 travel agents and 12 product managers to provide the latest news and selling tips.


Ancient history comes alive! TURKEY specialist Anatolian Sky Holidays is celebrating 25 years in the business this year and as part


of its celebrations invited 11 key agents on a seven-day fam trip to Turkey. The fam aimed to highlight the potential for tailor-made itineraries featuring Turkey’s natural wonders and historic sites. The group travelled with Turkish Airlines and explored Istanbul's mosques and bazaars, took a hot air balloon flight over the strange ‘fairy chimney’ landscape of Cappadocia, visited Konya, home of the ‘Whirling Dervishes’, the white rocks and thermal pools of Pamukkale, and historic sites like Ephesus, Pergamum and Troy.

THOMAS Cook's 'A Performers' – seven managers from top-performing stores – were hosted by the Saint Lucia Tourist Board for a week's fam. The agents stayed at St. James’s Club Morgan Bay, experiencing Thomas Cook’s new route by enjoying activities such as a jeep safari, zip lining, the eco-Lushan Life tour, the Tet Paul nature trail and the Sulphur Springs drive-in volcano. Saint Lucia Tourism's Atlyn Forde said: "This was a great chance to increase awareness of our product within the Thomas Cook portfolio."

TITAN organised its biggest ever FAM trip, taking 22 agents on the Douro River in Portugal aboard the Spirit of Chartwell, the five-star vessel that carried the Queen along the Thames for the Jubilee celebrations. B
