Kennedy Space Center offers some hands-on fun
FLORIDA’S Kennedy Space Center has introduced a range of science-based activity adventures designed to offer guests more ‘hands-on experiences’. Now visitors to the Central Florida attraction can launch a water rocket, create and land a rover on ‘Mars’ and race a jet car.
The activities, each lasting from 90
minutes to two hours, are offered at different times each day at the centre, which recently
extended its daily
operating hours to 19.00 (through September 1). “We created these fun activities
to
engage guests and provide a fun way to learn about some of the incredible technology and science that they see at
the Kennedy Space Center,” said Therrin Protze, Chief Operating Officer for the visitor attraction. “We want to continue to build on the approach we took in creating the new Space Shuttle Atlantis attraction, which features more than 60 interactive, touch- screen experiences and state-of-the-art high-tech simulators.” Other attractions at the centre include
the Kennedy Space Center Tour featuring the Saturn V Center, with an actual Saturn V moon rocket; the new Angry Bird Space Encounter; the Shuttle Launch Experience; 3D IMAX® space films; Astronaut Encounter; Exploration Space: Explorers Wanted and many

Florida’s beaches are virtually untouched
FLORIDA enthusiasts can now ‘stroll’ the beaches of the Sunshine State without even having to leave the UK. Locations that range from popular Miami Beach to lesser-known sanctuaries such as Cayo Costa can be enjoyed ‘virtually’ since VISIT FLORIDA launched its Florida Beach Finder. The online tool allows travellers to tune their preferences in four ranges of
‘beach personalities’. Options
include 'Action-packed' 'Secluded', and 'Somewhere Inbetween'. The beachfinder then delivers visual choices which allow the user to walk the beaches through an immersive Street View applictaion.
