There are few destinations that captivate or inspire quite like the The Land of the Long White Cloud – and agents are well placed to cash in on its current high placing in the Antipodean sun, says Tom Gallagher

rstwhile home to a handful of lively hobbits and the silver screen’s most famous rings, New Zealand is now


currently revelling in its recent royal approval and the spin-off from this series of A-list publicity is increasing visitor numbers and burgeoning trade opportunities. This impossibly beautiful country – although don’t try telling that to the England rugby team, who were ‘whistewashed’ in their recent test series there – to which UK visitor numbers have increased by around 2.8% in the last 12 months, offers the ultimate in adventure activities, escorted tours, self-drive options, railway journeys and cultural experiences. Despite the distance and cost involved in getting there, enhanced visitor interest seems likely on the back of Wills and Kate’s successful visit to the dominion earlier this year.
