based scribing applications. Combined with LaserDesk, Scanlab offers a solution for precise laser and scan head control with 20- bit position resolution, 24-bit virtual image field for processing on the fly, and I/O communication interface for a PLC. www.scanlab-america.com

The Lambda HPX from Sutter Instrument Company will be on

show. It is a liquid-cooled high- output LED light source designed around a single 90W, 4.25mm LED die. The liquid cooling head allows the user to maintain the low junction temperatures required to reach the manufacturer’s projected bulb life of 60,000 hours.

The Lambda HPX is designed to dim the LED using either pulse width modulation (PWM) or current control. Integral shuttering times are 400µs to turn on and 50µs to turn off. TTL input and output allows for software triggering and an analogue input allows PWM to be controlled externally. Light output is in the

visible spectrum from 400-729nm from either a cool white or a tungsten white LED. However specific LEDs with 405nm, 460nm, 525nm and 623nm wavelengths are also available.

The Lambda HPX can also be combined with the Lambda TLED to create a two-channel system with any combination of wavelengths. www.sutter.com

Symetrie has

launched NanoPos, a nanometre resolution positioning hexapod

developed for demanding applications such as optics or nanotechnologies.

The NanoPos hexapod comes in a small form factor, thanks to the integration of compact piezo stages from Micronix, quality joints and low friction mechanical parts. NanoPos can position a 1kg payload in six degrees of freedom with a 10nm resolution. It is 65mm tall. Its closed loop control with linear optical encoders enables it to reach high precision performances. The hexapod comes with a

controller and an ergonomic software program developed by Symetrie, for easy configure of the rotation centre. www.hexapod-system.com

Toptica will present its new digital laser controller, the DLC pro, for use with its tuneable diode lasers, the DL pro. The DLC pro offers lower noise and drift levels. It provides touch control and remote operation to run and stabilise the frequency of the laser. Toptica’s latest developments for quantum optics, biophotonics, and test and measurement will also be on show. The company will display its latest tuneable diode lasers, compact OEM diode lasers, ultrafast fibre lasers and terahertz packages. www.toptica.com

Thorlabs, a manufacturer of photonics tools and systems, will exhibit two new fibre-coupled, broadband tungsten light sources. The SLS201 and SLS202 extend its product portfolio for spectroscopy in chemical, medical, and biological analysis. The sources come in two versions, both featuring a constant intensity blackbody radiation spectrum that ranges from 300nm to 2,600nm (tungsten-halogen) or 450nm to 5,500nm (tungsten). The internal feedback system of the light sources stabilises the light power variation to within 0.05 per cent and significantly reduces the power drift to 0.01 per cent per hour. www.thorlabs.de

Vytran will feature a series of demonstrations of fibre processing

36 ELECTRO OPTICS l FEBRUARY 2014

Xenics is exhibiting its ultra- compact Bobcat-640, which meets high sensitivity in the SWIR range for specialised R&D and high temperature process control. The Bobcat-640 SWIR camera comes with an industry-standard GigE Vision or CameraLink interface. Power over Ethernet is possible for standalone operation.

The in-house developed InGaAs detector operates in high gain or low gain mode. The user can choose to integrate-while-read or to integrate-then-read. As a result, Bobcat-640 increases measurement sensitivity by capturing more light and lowering integration times under difficult lighting conditions. The frame rates of up to 100Hz can

equipment. Among the demos, visitors can see: a GPX-3000 series glass processor that creates splices, combiners, tapers, couplers, ball lenses, end caps and other fused components on a wide range of optical fibre types and diameters; an LDC-400 large-diameter fibre cleaver, which is an automated system that produces precise and consistent flat and angled cleaves on fibres ranging from 80µm to 1.25mm in diameter; and a PTR-200 series recoater that applies coating to stripped fibre while preserving original fibre diameter, flexibility and long-term strength. www.vytran.com

Z-Laser will present ZFSM fibre-coupled lasers and ZQ laser sources with higher

power (<6W) with projection accuracy that is demanded in many applications for machine vision. The newly developed ZFSM laser systems use the superior optical properties of fibres.

Also available on the exhibition

stand are small high-tech laser modules ZM18 and ZM12 in a thread housing. Customised assemblies with waterproof/dustproof (up to IP67) housings for OEM applications are supported for many

be further increased in windowing mode. A VisNIR option extends the wavelength into the visible realm. Bobcat-640 features a pixel pitch down to 20μm. This lay-out makes the camera compatible with a broad range of standard C-mount lenses. The use of industrial components increases the operating temperature range from -40 up to +70°C. www.xenics.com

products. Micro- or macro-lines as well as various projection patterns such as multi-lines, dot matrices, crosses, circles, etc., are available. The output power range is <1mW to 6,000mW combined with a variety of wavelengths from blue (404nm) to IR (980nm). www.z-laser.com

Zygo will introduce the Nexview profiler, its 3D imaging and measurement system

for interactive surface metrology. This system is aimed at the production and scientific research markets. The Nexview profiler is for non-contact surface metrology of a variety of samples and surfaces. It has sub-nanometre vertical resolution to provide high precision with differing fields of view. Using non- contact 3D technology, the system will measure fragile and transparent materials without altering the test surface. Its performance on steep slopes, up to 85°, lets Nexview save time compared to magnification dependent technologies. Zygo’s new Mx software platform

offers simple workflow-based setup and measurements including the advanced analysis tool data viewer. www.zygo.com
