Avant seeks hire partners Avant will officially launch Avant Hire UK, a growing nationwide network of hire companies
that will partner with the manufacturer by adding its compact wheeled loaders and attachments to their fleets. As we first reported in our September issue, the initiative will operate via an 0800 telephone number, which will automatically divert
enquiries to the caller's nearest hire partner. There are
already four members in the network,
including Versatile Equipment, Winner Plant, Selwood and Avant Hire Services, and the company plans to reach a total of 50 by the end of the year. The company believes interest in hiring will continue to grow owing to the versatility of the compact machines, which can be fitted with a choice of more than 100 attachments for different applications.

Doosan Construction Equipment will display products from its Bobcat, Doosan Portable Power and Attachment businesses. These will include the 2.6 tonne zero tail swing Bobcat E26 mini excavator, designed for low levels of noise and vibration, and, when fitted with a cab and a longer arm, it weighs 2700kg, allowing it to be transported by trailer. Also promoted on the stand will be the Doosan 7/31G and 7/41G compressor-generators, which supply 3m3 and 4m3
/min (141 cfm) respectively of compressed air at 7 bar.
Both incorporate a 6kVA generator to additionally provide power for equipment such as lights, tools and fusion welders. Products will also be shown from the Montabert range of tools for machines such as compact loaders and excavators.
Manitou on track
The Gehl RT 210 tracked loader will be amongst the
machines being displayed by Manitou. With an operating weight of 4486kg and a tipping load capacity of 2722kg, it incorporates the manufacturer’s patented HydraTrac automatic track tensioning system, designed to eliminate the need for manual adjustment before operation. The radial lift boom is said to offer greater strength and optimal forward reach for loading trailers and dumping at height. The first RT 210 to be sold in the UK was delivered recently to
