One of the reasons why visiting the Show is important is the chance it gives you to meet others and talk about the industry. I attended the North West Regional Hirer Meeting held in Haydock, which was organised by the Show Team at the end of November, and I found it similarly valuable. The central location at the Ricoh Arena is easy to get to, and having everything on one level, with the extra stands in the Atrium this year, should make for a really good, integrated atmosphere. It’s a chance to see all the latest equipment, and you can actually touch it and examine it, rather than relying on images in catalogues or on websites. Many suppliers wait until the exhibition to launch their new products, so I reckon there will be a lot to see. Every year I come back with useful additions for our fleet.

Visiting the

Show is simply essential. Any hirer who does not attend is missing out on seeing the latest products and special deals on the day. The exhibition always has a great variety of suppliers under one roof, and fellow Director Mark Hatton and I stay locally overnight to make sure we do it all justice. It’s an opportunity to meet industry contacts and put faces to names.

We are looking forward to meeting existing suppliers like Obart Pumps, Youngman and Husqvarna, and we also want to see the latest micro digger and compact dumper developments, as we intend adding more this year. Overall, we find visiting the Show is a thoroughly enjoyable and profitable experience, and just one day spent out of your normal schedule can set your company’s agenda for the coming year.

Arborist and ArbTrak 150 wood chippers are the hire industry standard, finding application with contractors and local authorities, often on long term hire, through to golf clubs, leisure parks and private individuals who have tree waste to dispose of. They have a chipping capacity of 150mm and have low maintenance, especially in the area of blade sharpening where the Disc-Blade system turns the blades to a new sharp section before sharpening is required.
