Safety-Lifting to launch battery hoist Meet up with CPA

CPA will again be holding a Strategic Forum Plant Safety Group ‘outreach meeting’ on the Wednesday morning, from 10.30am to 1pm in the Jaguar Suite at the Ricoh Arena. Topics will include operator competence, telehandlers (including new work on the issue of suspended loads), ground conditions and mobile elevating work platform safety. Speakers will include representatives from the Health & Safety Executive and other organisations.

The meeting, which is open to all, will be split into three sessions, and visitors can attend as many as they like. For more details, and to register, contact CPA Director Kevin Minton at kevin.minton@cpa.uk.net On its Show stand, CPA will

promote its Stars of the Future award scheme, now in its second year, for trainees in the plant hire industry and held in conjunction with colleges offering mechanic apprentice training nationwide.

New products from the Safety-Lifting Group will include a battery powered chain hoist designed for use at sites without a convenient electricity supply. The compact unit weighs 8kg, has a 250kg lift capacity and models are available with lift heights of up to 10m. An LED display shows the condition of the rechargeable battery.

Husqvarna makes the cut

Husqvarna Construction Products will promote its power cutters, including the K760 OilGuard, which is equipped with an optical detection system that identifies whether the oil type is correct. If it detects an

incorrect oil mix, the machine will

automatically shut down to idle, alerting the operator. This can lower repair costs and reduce downtime.

Lightweight floor saws will be on display, including the FS400 LV, designed for productivity and low vibration. Also prominent on the stand will be Diagrip2 diamond cutting tools, along with drilling equipment, such as the DM 220 drill motor, which is equipped with a new level guiding system for precise operation.

Maypole blazes a trail

Making its Show debut, Maypole will promote its range of parts and components for trailers and towing equipment, along with the trailer boards and lighting harnesses it manufactures in Birmingham. A range of ‘E’ approved LED lamps will also be on show, including new LED flood and spot work lamps, as well as Stronghold security products such as hitch locks and wheel clamps.
