develop 100 SMALL GIANT GAMES

SET UP BY ex-Sulake CTO Markus Halttunen, senior product director Otto Nieminen and former IKON Graphics entrepreneurs Ilkka Juopperi and Tommi Vallisto, Small Giant Games is working on free-to- play titles for iOS and Android. Little is currently known about the studio’s first project, except that it will be a physics- based title. However, the team’s

reputation has helped it garner investment in its seed funding round to the sum of £460,000. The studio has pledged to use the money to help grow its team of developers as it works on its debut title.

SPACE APE

SPACE APE IS a mobile and social gaming start-up founded in 2012 by ex-Playfish GM John Earner, former Playfish senior director of product

management Simon Hade and Mind Candy CTO Toby Moore. The studio also houses a number of other ex-Playfish staff, who joined following that company’s closure by EA. The team’s first game was

Samurai Siege (pictured), which it released just a few months ago. The strategy game takes its cues from the likes of Clash of Clans and aspects of World of Warcraft, and has consistently performed well in the UK App Store since launch.
