FOLLOWING THEIR WORK together during the 2012 Global Game Jam, founders Koen Bollen, Joris Dormans and Stephan van der Feest decided to set up their own studio: Ludomotion. As well as continuing work on their game jam entry, party game Bezircle (pictured), it is also creating its first Facebook game, a F2P shooter Dules. The team is also contributing towards Double Dutch’s upcoming release Speedrunner HD and developing an educational Flash title for Utrecht University. The studio is even building its


own game engine and a toolset that specialises in procedural content generation.


MAKIELAB«


MAKIELAB IS A games studio and toys production outfit. Started in 2011 by ex-Channel 4 education commissioning editor Alice Taylor, the young start-up is bringing personalisation to toys with its custom-made Makies. Through the firm’s website,


customers can design, cloth and accessorise their very own Makie (pictured), just as they would an avatar. They can even place an order for a physical doll. The company has also
