develop 100 ALMOST HUMAN

HAVING WORKED IN the industry at companies such as Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment and Shattered Horizon maker Futuremark, a team of four developers set out to start their own studio in 2011. Called Almost Human and

located in Espoo, Finland, their first game was RPG Legend of Grimrock (pictured), a title inspired by the classic role- playing games of years gone by, which it released in April 2012. The title was clearly a success

for the studio, which has now gone on to work on Legend of Grimrock 2, with the title’s first levels currently in Alpha stage as it moves into full production.

AMPLITUDE

THIS PARIS-BORN studio was formed in 2011 by a team whose credits include Battlefield, Rayman, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon and XIII.

Although, in its early days, the

developer already prides itself on forming a close relationship with its community through its Games2Gether scheme. This enables players to share, discuss and compare ideas – ultimately helping to create a game. Amplitude’s first title was sci-fi

4X strategy game Endless Space (pictured), which it released in 2012 to a positive critical reception. In just over a year, it sold over 300,000 copies and has its first expansion pack.
