Bender, Jr. This book examines the 26 standard station designs the SP used along it system, as well as a number of other styles em- ployed by the railroad. Included with the history of the SP station designs are hundreds of photos that illustrate the railroad’s traditional stations, as well as a number of variations and modifica- tions. In an age where millions of photos are taken and made available for the world to see every day, where we are constantly bombarded by images from corporations, friends, and family, it is easy to consider the process of collect- ing photographs to be rather mundane.
