Between September and November of 1965, PS built a num- ber of PS-1 boxcars for the Rock Island. Built as lot 9503 in their 28350 – 29349 series. With the bankruptcy of the RI in 1980, the CNW purchased several of them. They numbered them into the 701000-702499 series. The original RI reporting marks and numbers were painted over leaving the RI herald intact. Several of these cars operated into the early 1990’s. This HO kit is is available only in 1 number.
