Congratulations to Clint Berry (not pictured), Lee Burton, right, and Christi Keeler, left, for being chosen to represent Texas and South- western Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) at the 2013 Young Cattlemen’s Conference (YCC). This event is hosted by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. This month the professionals will embark on a tour of the industry, learning about the production, processing, domestic and export marketing of U.S. beef. TSCRA sends 3 delegates to the YCC. The delegates are chosen each year at the Cattle Raisers Convention.

New honorary directors were named at the Cattle Raisers Conven- tion. They are William C. “Billito” Donnell, Jr., Alpine; Katharine Armstrong Love, Austin; Len P. Mertz, San Angelo; Raymond E. Moore IV, Richmond; and Gordon Richardson, Caldwell.

The Frank Price family was recognized at the opening ses- sion of the 2013 Cattle Raisers Convention as award-win- ning environmental stewards. From left are Pete Bonds, second vice-president; Joe Parker, president; Sims and Frank Price, Sterling City; and Joe Leathers, Guthrie, chair of the Natural Resources and Environment Committee. The Price family received the Texas Section, Society for Range Management and TSCRA joint Outstanding Rangeland Stewardship Award.


The 2013 winners of the Texas Beef Quality Producer Award were Dr. Mike and Anne Wirtz, TZ Cattle Company, Brenham. They accepted their award at the Cattle Raisers Convention from TSCRA officers.
