Beefmaster Breeders United (BBU) leaders have ap- proved the Beefmaster Five Star Challenge (FSC), to
allow Beefmaster breeders to follow their cattle through the feedlot and harvest phase to gain valuable feed and carcass attributes of the product they are producing. Steers will be fed at the Graham Feedyard, Gonzales, or Irsik and Doll Feedyard, Garden City, Kan. All steers must be sired by a registered Beefmaster bull, born in the spring of 2013, weaned, vaccinated and backgrounded a minimum of 45 days prior to the Oct. 15 delivery date. CEO. Soules was the general manager for Star Lake Cattle Ranch, Skiatook, Okla. During his tenure at Star Lake, they showed 13 consecutive champion Hereford
carloads at the National Western Stock Show, held 7 production sales grossing more than $1 million and sold cattle to 12 countries. The American Quarter Horse Association elected new executive committee members during its 2013
convention. Those members are President Johne Dobbs, Champaign, Ill.; First Vice President Johnny Trotter, Hereford, Texas; Second Vice President George Phillips, Sumrall, Miss.; Dr. Glenn Blodgett, Guthrie, Texas; and Sandy Arledge, Encinitas, Calif. The American Brahman Breeders Association Presi- dent Dr. Ricky Hughes has named new committee
