Dresden's Kratwerk Mitte will be the new home of both the Dresden State Operetta and the city’s Theater Junge Generation

GERMANY Sony powers cultural centre By Erica Basnicki

REDEVELOPMENT OF Dresden’s Kraftwerk Mitte power plant into a cultural centre won’t be complete until 2016, but a Sony DWX system has already been specified by its new residents Staatsoperette Dresden (Dresden State Operetta) and Theater Junge Generation (TJG). Neuenhagen-based

installation specialists Elektroakustik Neuenhagen supplied the TJG with 16 channels of DWX and the Staatsoperette Dresden with 32 channels, which will be further extended by an additional 42 channels at the new location in 2016. “Both the TJG and the

Staatsoperette were experiencing more and more LTE signal interference and therefore needed to invest in new equipment,” said TJG technical director Lutz Hofmann. “Although the amalgamation

of the two companies at one central location is not scheduled until 2016, together we have already decided to invest in purchasing Sony’s DWX system. The interim solution to update the existing analogue systems was already under way but has now been cancelled. We have opted instead for the only suitable microphone system around, the

The centre combines old industrial architecture with contemporary extensions

Sony DWX, which is powerful and reliable and offers us the latest technological features – enabling us to look forward to a digital future with ease. This investment provides us with the

security that we shall remain at the forefront of technology in the years to come.”n www.hlaudio.de www.kraftwerk-mitte-dresden.de www.sony.co.uk
