HOW TO GET

CERTIFIED US Lacrosse offers certifi cation through Levels 1 and 2 of its Coaching Education Program (CEP). Here’s how to become a

Level 1 certifi ed coach: 1. Join US Lacrosse at uslacrosse.org/join and renew the membership annually. US Lacrosse membership includes complimentary enrollment in the US Lacrosse Coaching Education Program.

2. Obtain National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) background screening. Once you’re a member of US Lacrosse, return to uslacrosse.org and click “My Account” in the top right corner. Log into your account and purchase a background check. US Lacrosse will be notifi ed when you complete this requirement.

3. Complete the US Lacrosse CEP Level 1 online

course. The course is free for all members and available at uslacrosse.org/cep. US Lacrosse automatically will receive notifi cation once you’ve completed this course.

4. Complete the US Lacrosse CEP Level 1 instructional clinic. Each clinic is seven hours of hands-on training. Clinics are available nationwide from October through March and also at the annual US Lacrosse National Convention. US Lacrosse records your completion once you’ve checked out of your clinic at the end of the day. Register at uslacrosse.org/cep.

5. Complete the Positive Coaching Alliance’s Double- Goal Coach workshop. One option is to do this online at positivecoach.org. Enter code “USLacrosse2012DGC” to take the course for free (a $30 value). The other option is to attend a free PCA Double-Goal Coach workshop at the US Lacrosse National Convention, or attend a CEP Level 1 instructional clinic that includes the PCA workshop. Either way, you must email proof of PCA workshop completion to cep@uslacrosse.org.

When US Lacrosse has all requirements on record, you’ll receive notifi cation of certifi cation completion and a certifi cation card to follow.
