Managed Print

Our CIO did consider another vendor’s offering but at four times the price of KYOCERA that wasn’t a realistic option. We undertook a fully competitive tender for the business and at one point found it virtually impossible to compare the vendor offerings on a level playing field be- cause there were so many different extras re- quired for a solution or alternatively, it was all included within one price. KYOCERA’s menu pricing was a real help as until then we couldn’t understand precisely what the vendors were selling.” Despite this the Capgemini requirement was

clear: “We wanted faster printers and really liked the energy efficiencies offered by KYOCERA’s portfolio. We need professional partners but are happy to be realistic about what can be

delivered. We’ve been delighted by scan-to-me and follow-me printing - I can now send a job to print anywhere, even in our other offices and know that when I arrive my print will be re- leased exclusively to me. We also like the sim- pler concepts such as eco and duplex printing.” Stewart Dudding, Global Accounts Manager, KYOCERA Document Solutions said: “The so- lution we delivered for Capgemini UK com- prises more than 100 of our TASKalfa MFPs and includes a print management solution which gave Capgemini control over its document out- put, helped reduce costs and prevent paper waste, while user authentication increased data security. Capgemini users can enjoy an intuitive user interface and the ability to print anywhere and anytime at any networked device while the

management team now benefit from detailed re- ports on device usage and a means of charging costs back automatically.” Ginja concludes: “We found working with

KYOCERA a breath of fresh air, returning to what I can best describe as service levels and value for money of old. They shared our values and we were able to deploy a vastly rationalised estate with scan-to-me and follow-me print tech- nologies in a dynamic environment to the point where our consultants are now recommending these leading initiatives to our customers. How- ever ultimately what KYOCERA offered significantly cut costs for us. In terms of savings we have saved £1.3million over three years and that’s a major cost saving on our previous partner.”

Eddie Ginja, UK Head of Infrastructure Management, Capgemini.
