Te Changing Wind of UK Investment

ooking for an investment opportu- nity? Can’t decide which country to move your business to? In 2011, The UK attracted more foreign di- rect investment (FDI) than any other European country. And this trend looks likely to continue, with the energy sector regarded as one of the main industries likely to flourish, with excellent opportunities available and government support. Cornwall is located in the far west of Great Britain, surrounded to the east by the county of Devon, to the north and west by the Atlantic Ocean, and to the south by the English Channel. It has long es- tablished itself as an ideal location for investment for various economic sectors, including marine and food, but most prominently, the environmen- tal and renewable energy industries. The UK is classified as the world’s eighth


largest manufacturer of wind power, so it is al- ready an established leader in this sector and would have huge incentives and expertise to offer any FDI hoping to capitalise in this area. Its geographic location, lends itself to a thriving Eu- ropean hub, with close business connections and easy accessibility to European transport links. EU investments have allowed Cornwall to transform into a sustainable, service-driven economy. So, at a glance it is easy to see why Cornwall is a great spot for investment. But what else does it offer?
