DAY 5 –  JUST ANOTHER TEMPLE IN VIENNE... Vienne, a walled town dating back to Roman times, is situated on the vineyard-covered bank of the Rhône. Nearly intact in the center of town stands the Roman Temple of Augustus and Livia, where a guide will share tales of its intriguing past. Before a return to cruising, enjoy a sampling of local goodies. Meals BLD


DAY 6 –  VIVIERS: PASSAGEWAYS & PÉTANQUE On a walking tour of Viviers, a scavenger hunt requires your detective skills on the way to the petite Cathédrale Saint-Vincent; stop for an insider’s tour of a local bakery and afterward, try your hand at a local game of pétanque. Back on the ship enjoy a chocolate demonstration and this evening, a leisurely walk through Arles. Meals BLD


DAY 7 –  WILD CAMARGUE & ART IN ARLES A taste of France’s “Wild West” awaits on a drive into the Camargue, where free-roaming black bulls are looked after by French gardians (cowboys) saddled up on white horses. On a visit to a manade (ranch), enjoy a hayride, a Provençal lunch, gypsy music and a daring bull show. Later, a walking tour brings to life places depicted in art by Vincent van Gogh. Meals BLD


DAY 8 –  AVIGNON RICHES & ADVENTURE A grand palace is yours to explore on a guided tour of the Palais des Papes, a 14th-century “renegade” papal palace. Stretch your legs afterward on a bicycle ride along the Rhône River promenade and during time to swim or explore. Join us later for a walk across the famed Pont du Gard, a Roman “bridge” over the River Gardon, followed by refreshments – then weather permitting, a barbecue on the Sun Deck. Meals BLD


DAY 9 –  MID-RHÔNE CUISINE & CASTLE Fine French cuisine is the focus of today’s action during a cooking demonstration at a famed cooking school in Valence – it has earned three Michelin stars. Visit Tournon-sur-Rhône, a town known for the feudal castle that sits on a rock high above,

Special Solo Traveler Savings – No Single Supplement in Category 1: On all departures, the single price in Category 1 is the same as the double price – no single supplement, which means savings of up to 50% for solo travelers!
