8.  ROUSSILLON / CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE Travel into the Luberon region of Provence to explore Roussillon, surrounded by ochre-colored cliffs and quarries which blaze against the azure sky. Following an orange-hued walking path, you’ll have an opportunity to see why the town’s livelihood was once intricately linked to this colorful natural pigment. After lunch on the ship, you’ll head to the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape for a tasting before returning to your ship. Meals BLD


9.  TOURNON-SUR-RHÔNE & VALENCE Wind your way up river to medieval Tournon-sur-Rhône to admire views of its ancient Grand Pont and feudal castle and taste its famous Valhrona Chocolates (subject to Monday closings). Travel to Valence for a cooking presentation at an award-winning restaurant and cooking school in town that features fresh ingredients prepared in a light, inventive style. A wine and cheese tasting follows, celebrating the region’s finest. Save an appetite for the Captain’s farewell reception and dinner this evening as the ship begins its return to Lyon. Meals BLD
