NEUSCHWANSTEIN & OBERAMMERGAU Not far from your hotel sits a fairy-tale castle built by Bavarian King Ludwig II from 1869 to 1886; so magnificent is it to behold that Neuschwanstein has been the inspiration for countless models, books and film sets. Ride up to the castle by horse-drawn carriage for a tour of its lavishly decorated rooms.
