BLUE DANUBE: FAMILY RIVERBOAT ADVENTURE

Give us a week and we’ll give you a 4-country river cruise adventure that will have your family dining like royalty in a Viennese palace, bicycling along the Danube, “finding” famous composers on a Bratislava scavenger hunt, discovering an “a-mazing” Salzburg playground, and making marzipan and strüdel.
1. ARRIVE BUDAPEST / WELCOME ABOARD Tour begins: 2:00 PM, Budapest, Hungary. A transfer is included from Budapest’s Ferihegy Airport directly to ms Swiss Sapphire. Join us at 2:00 PM for city sightseeing, followed by the Captain’s welcome reception and dinner. Meals D
2. CLUES IN OLD TOWN BRATISLAVA Cruise along the Danube to Bratislava, whose Old Town has seen 1,700 years’ worth of history in a city that is home to one of Europe’s youngest populations. Play detective on an interactive walking tour / scavenger hunt, searching for statues and plaques honoring some of the city’s musically famous residents. Back onboard, a fun cookout (weather permitting) leads to festive Slovak entertainment. Meals BLD
3. A VIENNA PALACE & A ROYAL GOOD TIME The Habsburg family, who reigned over the Austrian Empire for some 600 years before being ousted in World War I, left a legacy of treasures and palaces in Vienna. Visit Schönbrunn Palace where the garden offers a maze, labyrinth and games. Tonight, at Tauck’s exclusive Imperial Evening in a private palace, dancers and musicians perform just for you as you are treated to a special dinner in a royal ballroom. Meals BLD

4. VIENNA’S CATACOMBS & THE PRATER Ride by horse-drawn carriage to the catacombs beneath St. Stephen’s Cathedral, a burial place for Habsburg royalty and even common folk during the Black Plague, and then enjoy time in Vienna on your own. Later try your hand making strüdel with a professional baker before evening delights at The Prater, one of the world’s oldest amusement parks. Meals BLD
