Prologo’s Nago EVO saddle, costing £169.99 at retail, is one for the serious roadie used to putting in high mileage. CSG UK

THOSE WHO swung by either the Manchester Velodrome or Mercedes Benz world CSG trade shows will have been given the guided tour of the new Cannondale line, which has some interesting technology trickling down. An example is the CAAD8, which is

packed with features drawn directly from its Aluminium Giro d’Italia- winning ancestors. If you're after the most affordable Cannondale road bike ever, look no further than this bike. Cannondale has always been renowned for its aluminium frames having a reputation for stiff, light weight and beautifully welded frames, the CAAD8 brings this technology and quality to the masses for the first time.

GT Bicycles’ GTR series of road bikes is aimed squarely at the sportive rider. The simple three-bike line up covers most consumers’ price points. A GT speed metal double butted and hydroformed frame combine with Shimano parts to create a bike that is equally at home on the daily commute or at the head of the peleton. Comfort and performance aren’t mutually exclusive with the GTR series, says GT, it is possible to have both in one bike. 01202 732288

components tailored to the smaller features of young riders, the bikes are a great introduction to drop bar cycling. Dealers should also look out for the Minor and Minor X, both designed in Derby with the growing rider in mind. Considering these builds carry downsized cockpits, better suited gearing and tailored frame geometry, these bikes are top notch for £469.99. The Major costs £489.99. 01332 774796
