LEGO, POSH Paws, Ravensburger, IMC and Winning Moves are just some of the toy firms planning new lines for Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants brand over the next year. A hefty 35 new toy launches are planned from this autumn through 2013 – the most toy lines released for Spongebob in one year. “After an impressive 13 years on our screens, the appetite for Spongebob Squarepants is still as strong as ever,” said Nickelodeon VP Mark Kingston.
Lego has launched three
Spongebob lines including the Bikini Bottom Undersea Party complete with a raft of accessories, merry-go- round and seesaw; The Flying Dutchman ghost ship; and the Heroic Heros of the Deep boatmobile, with three mini figures, Plankton’s robot suit and spinable boat propellers.
The Krusty Krab Play-set and the Pirateship Play-set are new from Simba. The Pirateship contains three figures, sails and anchor, while the Krusty Krab comes with five figures and accessories, plus a kitchen with light and sound function.

B.Duck spreads its wings Vivid counts
THE BRAND which has been described as potentially ‘the next Paul Frank’, is beginning to build up its licensing programme in the UK thanks to DRi. B.Duck is already backed by Rainbow Designs, which is launching contemporary and functional gifts and novelties featuring the Hong Kong originated character.
Blueprint will join the programme with an extensive line of stationery and bags, launching at Spring Fair 2013. The range will include notebooks, journals and notepads, filing and storage, stationery and accessories, pens, pencils, social stationery, bags and travel accessories. DRi Licensing is also in discussions with greetings card, apparel and toiletries licensees. “The addition of Blueprint Collections to the B.Duck licensing programme is a very exciting development for the brand in the UK,” Alicia Davenport, licensing director at DRi told ToyNews. “B.Duck has got off to a flying start so far this year with the launch of Rainbow Designs’ gift range and we’re delighted to be welcoming such a forward thinking and creative stationery company on board. “There’s much more in store for

SIGNS NICK DEAL Character World has scored – in its own words – a major coup, signing an umbrella agreement with Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products. The deal will see the popular licensee produce bedroom textiles, furniture and towelling products for Nickelodeon brands in the UK and Ireland. STRONG SHOWING FOR CONSUMER PRODUCTS
on Tickety Toc ZODIAK KIDS has snapped up Vivid Imaginations as the master toy partner for new pre-school show, Tickety Toc. Vivid will hold distribution rights for the UK & Eire, France, Germany, Iberia, Benelux and Nordics, in addition to global manufacturing rights outside North America, Japan and Korea.

FLAIR KICKS OFF
MONSUNO PUSH Flair has begun its largest marketing campaign to date for new boy brand Monsuno. The push is being lead by a heavyweight TV campaign, with some 3,500 TVRs over 17 weeks. For the first five weeks, 30-second bursts will introduce the new play pattern, while four further ads will cover the wider range – including Monsuno cores, wild cores, launchers and the electronic battling play-set.
